Noise from nearby bar kept us from enjoying the night!!! A refreshing, modern interior would elevate the experience. A more substantial breakfast offering would make a big difference!!!

I stayed for one night in a comfortable and spacious triple room. The staff were friendly, and the bar had reasonably priced drinks. I was disappointed by the lack of a cooked breakfast option and the noise from the bar late at night, which affected my sleep.

great parks and cafes within walking distance for weekend explorers
I stayed here recently and loved how close so many charming cafes were, especially the Cafe on the Wolds just less than a 5-minute walk away, making it perfect for my morning coffee before exploring. the welcoming atmosphere and the amazing character of the building greatly added to my experience as I strolled to nearby landmarks like the William Bradley Memorial Statue, only 900 meters away.

The upper floor double room offered a cozy atmosphere, with a fantastic view of the town. The room featured vintage decor, reminiscent of its Victorian roots.
Check-in caused a bit of a hassle with an unstaffed reception, leading us through a crowded bar area. Noise from the bar lingered late into the night, affecting our sleep, and the shower had unreliable water flow, shifting temperatures unexpectedly. The window was propped open with a block of wood, and a strong, unpleasant smell came from the bathroom, which needed deodorizing. the amenities felt outdated, with the room requiring a refresh for the price we paid.

Cozy upper floor room with a fantastic view. No cooked breakfast option was a letdown. They have darts and live sports events at the bar.

Spacious and Comfortable Stay
We had a wonderful stay in a spacious upper floor double room, which was clean and cozy with charming historical touches. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the town, making it easy to explore. The staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us an early check-in and providing a complimentary breakfast basket, which was a lovely surprise. The only downside was the distant noise from the bar, but it was manageable and expected for a pub atmosphere.

The upper floor double room offered a clean, bright atmosphere with wood paneling, a comfortable bed, and a solid view of the High Street. A strong point is the ease of having breakfast delivered to the room, which included a good variety of options like croissants and yogurt.
One room stank to high heaven—definitely something funky going on with the drains. The bar area felt pretty outdated and didn’t have the welcoming vibe you'd expect. The hotel lacks a proper dining service, leaving you hunting for food elsewhere. Some may find the noise from the bar bothersome, especially later in the night, which was noticeable, though it didn’t bother me much.

We stayed for 2 nights in a cozy upper floor double room. The bedding was incredibly soft, and the bathroom came with a nice bath which was perfect for a soak after a long day explored the town. Can't beat the fantastic view from the room's window!
Felt very lucky to have found it, no complaints at all.

The spacious room featured original fixtures that added to its charm, complemented by comfortable beds and ample tea and coffee making facilities. Staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing for an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the ambiance was affected by loud music and rowdy patrons, making it hard to relax. While the nearby café provided good food options, the lack of breakfast availability was a disappointment.
